Closed-Loop Field Validation of Matte-Black Planting Pots in Riyadh
Client Challenge
Imported nursery pots arrived brittle and their drainage blocked under 50 °C Riyadh summers, so growers saw root rot and seedling losses before the season ended.
Our Engineering Solution
AERMAK moulded the traditional matte-black series in seven sizes and grew plants in it inside our own 20,000 m² smart greenhouse. Field observations drove the wall-slot ventilation band and the four drainage arcs in the base.
Engineered Resin: UV-stabilised PP compounded with 15–25% 20-micron calcium carbonate
Key Outcomes
Seven sizes from Ø14 × H12 cm to Ø42 × H40 cm validated through a full Riyadh summer in the greenhouse; base drainage and wall ventilation geometry finalised from the trial before release.
